How to Import Contacts via CSV
Importing your existing database is the fastest way to get started with Client Keeper. Use these steps to ensure your data is correctly formatted and mapped for a seamless transition.
Phase 1: Preparing Your CSV File
Organize Data: Ensure your contact information is organized into clear, distinct columns within a CSV file.
Add Headers: Use clear headers supported by the platform—such as First Name, Last Name, and Email—to ensure a smooth mapping process later.
Check Compatibility: Review the Supported Fields section (which includes addresses, birthdays, and relationships) to confirm your data matches the system requirements.
Phase 2: Uploading and Mapping
Initiate Import: Under the Contacts tab in the main navigation bar, click the Import button.
Get Started: In the "Upload Your Data" section of your settings, click Get Started.
Select File: Click the upload icon or browse your folders to select your prepared CSV file.
Map Fields: Match your CSV columns to the corresponding Client Keeper fields and click Continue once everything looks correct.
Final Review: Check the import summary, choose how to handle any duplicate contacts, and click Confirm Import to finalize the upload.
Pro Tip: If you are short on time, use the We Upload Your Data option. You can send your CSV file directly to the Client Keeper team, and they will handle the mapping and migration for you.
