Use Client Keeper in Claude

Connect Client Keeper to Claude and work with your CRM by asking in plain language: look up a client, see your day, review your pipeline, or log a touchpoint without leaving the conversation. This page covers setup, access, example prompts, privacy, and troubleshooting.

What it does

Client Keeper connects to Claude through a secure sign-in that you approve. Once connected, Claude can read your Client Keeper data and, if you allow it, update it for you while you chat.

  • Look things up. Search contacts by name, phone, or email and open a contact in full. See upcoming birthdays, housiversaries, and follow-ups, your CRM stats, groups, transactions, the events feed, and contacts you haven't talked to in a while.
  • Match buyers to homes. Search properties and see which of your buyers match them.
  • See it laid out. Where Claude shows interactive cards, Client Keeper can display your Today board, pipeline, closing timeline, lead inbox, buyer matches, follow-up planner, stale contacts, housiversaries, meeting debrief, business snapshot, a contact card, an add-contact form, and the power-text composer.
  • Get work done. With read-and-write access, Claude can add and update contacts, follow-ups, to-dos, notes, leads, events, groups, and transactions, draft power texts, and export your data to a CSV that is emailed to you.

Requirements

  • An active Client Keeper account.
  • A Claude plan that supports connectors. Client Keeper works in Claude on the web (claude.ai), Claude Desktop, the Claude mobile apps, Cowork, and Claude Code.
  • On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner or admin may need to allow the connector for your organization first.

Set up from the Connectors directory

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and browse the connectors directory.
  2. Search for Client Keeper and select Connect.
  3. Sign in to your Client Keeper account.
  4. Choose the access you want Claude to have (read, or read and write) and approve it. You'll land back in Claude, connected.
  5. In a chat, make sure Client Keeper is turned on in the tools menu, then ask away.

Or add it as a custom connector

If you don't see Client Keeper in the directory, you can add it yourself:

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Client Keeper and enter this URL: https://mcp.clientkeepercrm.com/api/mcp
  3. Select Add, then Connect. Sign in to Client Keeper and approve access.

Set up in Claude Code

Run this in your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http client-keeper https://mcp.clientkeepercrm.com/api/mcp

Then start Claude Code, run /mcp, choose client-keeper, and sign in to Client Keeper in the browser window that opens.

Install the Client Keeper plugin

The Client Keeper plugin adds ready-made skills on top of the connection: a daily CRM review, log a touchpoint, meeting prep, and pipeline review. It's free and open source at github.com/phillipshepard1/client-keeper-claude-plugin.

In Claude Code, run /plugin marketplace add phillipshepard1/client-keeper-claude-plugin, then open /plugin and install Client Keeper. Instructions for the other Claude apps are in the repository's README.

Read vs. read-and-write access

When you sign in, you choose how much Claude can do:

  • Read. Claude can look up and summarize your Client Keeper data but can't change anything.
  • Read and write. Claude can also create and update contacts, follow-ups, to-dos, notes, leads, events, groups, transactions, and power-text drafts, export your data to a CSV emailed to you, and delete records.
  • Deletes always ask first. Before a record is deleted, you're asked to confirm. Nothing is removed until you say yes.
  • Power texts stay drafts. Claude can write power-text drafts, but they are never sent automatically. You review and send them yourself.
  • Changing access. To switch between read and read-and-write, disconnect Client Keeper in Claude, connect again, and pick the access you want.

Example prompts

Once you're connected, try asking:

  • "Show me my day in Client Keeper."
  • "Who are my buyers looking for 3-bed homes under $400k in Bentonville, and what's listed that matches?"
  • "Log that I met Sarah Chen for coffee and set a follow-up for next Tuesday."
  • "Which contacts haven't I talked to in 90 days?"
  • "Show my pipeline and what's closing this month."
  • "Who has a birthday or housiversary in the next two weeks?"
  • "Add a to-do to drop off a closing gift for the Martins on Friday."

Data and privacy

Your data stays in Client Keeper. Claude reads and changes it only through the connection you approve, and only with the access you chose when you signed in.

What you type and see in a chat with Claude is handled by Anthropic under its own terms and privacy policy. Our Privacy Policy explains how Client Keeper collects, uses, and protects your information.

To disconnect: in Claude, open Settings → Connectors, select Client Keeper, and disconnect or remove it. In Claude Code, run claude mcp remove client-keeper. To have us revoke Claude's access from the Client Keeper side too, email support@clientkeepercrm.com.

Troubleshooting

  • Can't connect, or sign-in keeps looping. Remove the Client Keeper connector in Claude, add it again, and sign in once more. Make sure your Client Keeper account is active.
  • Claude says it can't make changes. Your connection is read-only. Disconnect Client Keeper in Claude, connect again, and approve read and write access.
  • New features aren't showing up. Claude may be holding an older list of what Client Keeper can do. Remove the connector and add it again to refresh it.
  • Claude isn't using Client Keeper. Check that the connector is turned on for the chat, or mention Client Keeper by name in your request.
